Children with SEN

If your child is due to start primary school and already has a statement of special educational needs or an  Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), the process of selecting a primary school is linked to your child's  statement or EHCP.

A consultation with the Statutory Assessment Service, schools and parents or carers will take place and a school will be named in the statement or EHCP. You should not make an application for a primary school place.

If your child is in the process of being considered for a statement or EHCP you should still make an  application through the reception admission round process. However, please email  admissions@essex.gov.uk  to inform us your child is going through this process.
